DANCE PHOTOSHOOTS

My story with dance photography began more than 25 years ago. I grew up watching my dad, who was also a photographer, capturing performances and rehearsals of my sister Olga Zitluhina. She is a choreographer and contemporary dancer, and a professor at the Latvian Academy of Culture. I took a lot of pictures of her dancing, and I still do.

Her work has always inspired me to see movement as something deeply human and poetic.

For many years, I have been photographing her projects, including #pijamadancepractice, a daily practice that has been going on for more than five years. I also photograph her students at the Academy, as well as performances and workshops at different festivals in Riga and abroad.

Dance photography is very special to me. It is about catching the fleeting moment when body, music,
and space come together — a moment that disappears instantly, yet can live forever in an image.

If you are looking for a dance photographer in Riga, Latvia,
I would be happy to document your rehearsals, performances,
or creative projects with sensitivity and presence.
