Dance & Movement Photography

Dance and movement photography inspired by contemporary dance and lived experience.
Performances, rehearsals, and long-term artistic projects in Riga and beyond.

My story with dance photography began more than 25 years ago. I grew up watching my dad, who was also a photographer, capturing performances and rehearsals of my sister Olga Zitluhina. She is a choreographer and contemporary dancer, and a professor at the Latvian Academy of Culture.
I took a lot of pictures of her dancing, and I still do.

Her work has always inspired me to see movement as something deeply human and poetic.

For many years, I have been photographing her projects, including #pijamadancepractice, a daily practice that has been going on for more than five years. I also photograph her students at the Academy, as well as performances and workshops at different festivals in Riga and abroad.

I work with contemporary dance projects, performers, and educational institutions in Latvia and internationally.
